Welcome to the brand new online home of The CAFE TA Center!
The CAFE TA Center is a program funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to provide mental health consumers and their grass-roots organizations with information, training, networking opportunities and support as they seek to advocate for themselves and transform the mental health system of care to allow for and encourage genuine consumer involvement and peer leadership. We believe that better outcomes among Americans with serious mental illness will result from putting consumers with real world experience at the center of the mental health system of care, and we are here to provide the tools and expertise to make that happen.
The CAFÉ TA Center has been tasked by SAMHSA to provide targeted support around two areas: Workforce Development and Supported Education. This site is intended to serve as a repository of information on those subject areas. Of course, we are also planning on including resources to address the full range of mental health issues, as well as helpful links to other TA Centers and organizations that have great information of their own to share.
We very much hope you enjoy our new site! If there’s something you would like to see added to it, don’t hesitate to use the Contact Us link to get in touch. The CAFE TA Center is designed to be for consumers, by consumers, and we would really love to have your input.
