People in the behavioral health community may have heard about “block grants,” but many people may not understand how they came about, how they work or what role individuals with behavioral health needs can play in deciding how block grant funding is spent. To help answer some of those questions, The CAFE TA Center has put together its newest Focus newsletter, “Block Grants: What They Mean to You.” It examines how block grants came into being, what their purpose is, and most importantly, how consumers and consumer organizations can play a role in the process in their state.
