SAMHSA has just released its strategic initiatives paper that will provide a road map for its goals and activities in the next four years. You can download the paper as a pdf by following this link.
SAMHSA has developed this plan with extensive input from a wide range of stakeholders, including consumers and the groups that serve and support them. The end result is this paper, which details how SAMHSA will bring federal resources to bear in its efforts to meet the behavioral health challenges currently emerging nationwide.
It also includes information on SAMHSA’s eight strategic initiatives, and describes how SAMHSA plans to “maximize its resources in an environment that promises improvements in the Nation’s behavioral health care system over the next few years as a result of a variety of forces—most notably the implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act.”
