A Focus on Sequestration

The word “sequestration” has been in the news a lot lately. There is a lot of argument about the state of the economy, the federal budget, deficit and debt. What does it all mean? And how does it impact the vital services that people with mental health needs rely upon?

To help provide some answers to these questions, The CAFE TA Center has produced a new Focus on budget sequestration, and what it means for mental health funding. It explains the basics of how the sequester came about, and discusses how cuts to federal funding may be felt by mental health consumers at the local level.

This is a complicated issue, but it’s also one that can impact the entire mental health system of care. We encourage you to learn more by checking out Focus 26: Sequestration today!
